  • Retro Commercial Screensaver is showing as a small screen vs full-size
  • SpeedRunner loads to 100% and then shuts down every time
  • Some games if you enter and exit out of them quickly get hung in the background without ever fully shutting down

My wife and I are signed into the AGS. She is player #1 and I am player #2. How can i quickly reassign the players so that I am player #1 without having to log out, scan the barcode, e-mail confirmation, sign back in? I cannot figure out how to switch the player (player 1 vs player 2) with who is currently signed in.

We have two updates being worked on now that will ease the pain you're feeling here:

  1. We will be splitting the signed-in-on-your-phone feature from the signed-in-on-a-machine so that when signing out of a machine, you will remain signed in on your phone. Hence, once you sign in on your phone the first time, you will remain signed in and won't have to do the email thing. Then, you can quickly sign in by scanning the QR code and that's it.

  2. When two players are signed in and a high score is created, AGS will ask you which player created the high score.

This is a good place to mention: the high score saving currently only supports one score per launch of the game, so if you play a "hotseat" game where two players take turns playing without ever exiting the game, still only one high score from that session will be saved.

A couple of things to see if you have any insights on how to fix or if it will come in a later update.

  1. I noticed two games on your Facebook page but cannot find them on the AGS Store. Are the below games able to be purchased?

    • Nosey Joe
    • Roach
  2. When logging onto the Polyca.de/AGS, after putting in the password it acts like it did not work/take but after waiting 10 - 15 seconds it finally loads the main page.

  3. I have a couple of games I wanted to purchase from the AGS Store but every time I enter in my payment info, the site tells me "something went wrong" not allowing me to pay/download the games.

  4. I have noticed the last couple of updates my favorite AGS screensaver is gone (i.e., retro commercial).

    • Is this because of copyrights?
    • Can we get that back and/or a couple different retro gaming screensavers?
    • Can we also have an option under settings that allows us to turn on/off the screen saver audio if it has one (e.g., retro commercial, SpeedRunners, etc...)?
  5. If I am not mistaken - eventually - all games that fall under the MAME & AGS category will be able to record high scores correct? I am still struggling with the current high scores available.

Thanks for these notes!

  1. We had an issue with incomplete assets for these games, but we've now gotten what we need from the devs. We'll get these added back in!

  2. This must have gotten borked when we did a broader screensaver update. It's added back in now!

  3. Yes, we are working towards support for a broader set of games. At the moment, we are using a MAME library to capture the high scores - this library supports some MAME games but not all. Also, the behavior of the library from game to game varies, so some games have issues like reporting the same score every time. Long story short, high scores will work on a variety of MAME games (both games from our store and games you added), but others will show strange behavior and others won't work at all. We are actively working on a system that will enable us to capture high scores from any game, we hope to see this rolled out in a couple months.

These points need some more research on our side:

  1. This could be related to some server issues we've had lately. We've been optimizing this for the past week and expect to have these issues resolved in the next 10 days.

  2. Same for #2, we are testing this now.

    With the new updates v1.15.0

    • The Retro Commercial Screensaver is still not there but I do see a…

      • mk11 (screen recording with a mouse moving around)
      • Lethal League (Rons May) screensaver
    • After signing out and back into Polyca.de/AGS there is still a significant lag after entering in the password. Meaning you enter in the e-mail address, then password and hit “Continue”; it looks like it does not take or go through but if you wait 10 sec - 20 sec it finally connects taking you to the User Account site. No biggie just an FYI because there is some lag-time.

    • I am still not able to purchase any AGS games on my iPhone, iPad or work Windows laptop. After going through the steps I am asked to enter my credit card information which is identified as a “VISA” card. After hitting the “pay” button, I am prompted with a “There was an error checking out” response. I have also tried to use my debit card and wife’s VISA card all with the same response. I have tried everything I can think of from logging off, clearing browser history/settings, cache, etc…

    I'm reaching out to inquire about the current activity status of this forum. It seems dormant for quite a while; is it still being used?

    Also my Polycade Lux says version 1.19.2. Is the AGS software still receiving attention and development support? It seems there haven't been significant updates for quite some time.
