Are there plans to support N64 roms anytime soon?

The CEO told me they were expecting it to launch shortly. But the date he gave me was last month. So probably not much longer.

Yes! N64 support will be added no later than December.

Is N64 available now? I don't see it in the add games drop down list.

Oops, looks like we're behind on this one! We should be able to get this sorted soon!

Looks like N64 games are working now!!!
Could you please let me know how I can get the Xbox controllers I connect to the system to show up as player 1 & 2 instead of the polycade controls being player 1&2.

Nice!

Your best bet is to unplug the Polycade control panel and just use your XBox controllers instead of the Polycade panel! Here's a Help Article on removing the panel: https://polycade.com/pages/helphq#/collection/1260/article/4958

Depending on which version of Polycade you have, the instructions above might be a little different, but the basic idea is the same: unscrew the two screws under the panel, lift the controls up and out a bit, and you'll notice a USB cable running out the back. Just unplug that and you should be good to go!

The controls for emulators are a fixed mapping at the moment, and since the Polycade joysticks are plugged in at boot, they will always get the player 1 and 2 positions.

You can unplug the polycade controls like Adam mentioned, and then when you turn on your xbox controllers they'll get the p1 and p2 positions.

Alternately, if you intend to always use your xbox controllers for n64 (and other console) games, then you could remap the Retroarch controller config to set p3 and p4 controllers as p1 and p2 in the emulator's eyes. This remapping would be done in Retroarch's settings whcih you can get to by launching:
C:\Users\solla\AppData\Roaming\polycade\emulators\retroarch\RetroArch.exe

My issue after disconnecting the polycade control panel is the Xbox wireless controllers don’t map to a Start button. Many of the n64 games require start to be hit to begin the game.

@glitch404 you'll need to make sure your xbox controllers are OFF when you disconnect the polycade controls. Here's why: when a controller is connected, it gets assigned an "order" or player number (1, 2, 3, 4). So for example, if you boot up your polycade with the controls connected here's what it will look like:

Player 1: Polycade controls left side
Player 2: Polycade controls right side
Player 3: None
Player 4: None

Then, you turn on your Xbox controllers. So here's what you've got now:

Player 1: Polycade controls left side
Player 2: Polycade controls right side
Player 3: Xbox wireless controller
Player 4: Xbox wireless controller

Then, you disconnect your Polycade controls, resulting in this:

Player 1: None
Player 2: None
Player 3: Xbox wireless controller
Player 4: Xbox wireless controller

In our next update, this should work because we've updated the config to make N64 work with any of the 4 controllers. Until then, it won't work because the N64 config is mapped to player 1 and player 2.

If you have the Polycade controls disconnected and your xbox controllers off, then you turn on your xbox controllers and connect them, they will be assigned player 1 and player 2 positions and this should work for you.
