MAME games not showing up at all

I'm debugging AGS for a friend who has the wall unit (Sente I think). I'm trying to figure out how to include MAME ROMs (of which I have many, built my own MAME arcade system from a 1981 Taito cabinet).

But...

While AGS picks up my Steam games immediately on install, it won't show MAME (or Arcade) on Platforms even though I set the ROM directory in the Settings > Games > Add Games > Add Local ROMs screen.

I can play these games with MAME raw and can see them all on MAMEUI64 (with snapshots) ... but don't know how to convince AGS that MAME ROMs are available to play,

Any pointers?

I am also seeing this issue but with any ROM’s added, not just mame. I have tried adding through the Settings menu where it will put the ROM into the correct directory but AGS wont see it. Tried manually putting transfer but same issue. Would love to now a fix. Have only had my Polycade set up for a week now and have had to resort to using other front ends such as Bigbox to play games.
