"machinePlaylist" aka screensaver sound

Is there any way to get the "Retro Game Commercials" screensaver to play sound while it's running? The file itself has sound, and in the menu selection it has sound, but on idle it is silent.

The screensaver mode doesn't play sound on purpose (like all classic arcade machines), as that has a tendency to drive people mad. Curious what your use case is...why do you want sound in screensaver mode?

I'm using this in my home where I have the power button to put it to sleep and turn off the screen to save power. But when it's on, I'd like the arcade experience including sound.

There is no option to turn on sound though? If that IS the case... What's the method to start up a game instead of a screensaver like it says on the main website?

Sorry - statement revision: classic arcade machines typically had a "dip switch" that allowed you to turn on/off the "attract mode" sound.

We don't currently have an option to turn on the sound during attract mode, but we can add that to the dev list.

Sadly the feature to use a game as the screensaver was broken in an update a while back. It's in our dev list to get fixed!
