  • where can i find my old image files after update?

the latest update replaced all of my game tile images with new ones. I cannot find the old files. Can you direct me to where they are?

Thanks

C:\Users[YOURUSERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\polycade\img
Your old images can be found in the path above. Although the AGS polycade exchanges will continue to replace them. You have to wait for the next update to fix this.

thanks. so there will be an update that will allow custom images again? the auto-images that are being forced now are a bit off and don’t populate for all games.

Yes. We actually already have this in place on our staging server...just need to do a little more testing but this is coming very soon!

My old MAME/arcade files are in the polycade-assets-arcade folder, but all of my console (nes, n64 etc.) images are missing after the update. Can you direct to me where they went?

Also, it is strange that many of my steam game images aren’t populating in Polyface.

One more thing, it is taking much, much longer for polyface to load on restart since the update. It used to take a minute or so to load. Now it takes about a half hour. is that normal?

thanks

Your original images should be in the following folders:
C:\Users[YOURUSERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\polycade**img**[PLATFORM][GAME NAME]

To replace the images in that are displayed in your game library, you just have drop the images you want to keep into the appropriate game folders here:
C:\Users[YOURUSERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\polycade**assets**[PLATFORM][GAME NAME]

This is a bug and the engineering team is investigating as we speak.

We've noticed this is an issue and figured out that it's part of a metadata refresh we did. We'll have a fix in place potentially today, but if not, early next week.

Sorry, formatting got messed up in my reply. These are the directories I meant to direct you to:

C:\Users[YOURUSERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\polycade**img**[PLATFORM][GAME NAME]

C:\Users[YOURUSERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\polycade**assets**[PLATFORM][GAME NAME]
