First, I'd like to mention that the way DRM-Free games get loaded into the Polycade app will change. Until then, here's how it works:
Any regular windows executable game that you want to run can be placed in a specific directory to make it appear in the Polycade interface. Place these games in:
C:\Users[YOUR USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\polycade\games\drm-free\
Polycade picks up games in the above folder by attempting to match the executable file (exe) with the name of the parent folder. It does this by reading the name of the folder, removing all spaces and special characters, and looking for an executable with that name. This is a hokey way of doing this, which is why it will change in the near future.
I got Elephant In the Room to work by doing the following:
Create this folder:
C:\Users[MY USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\polycade\games\drm-free\Elephant In The Room
Place all the game files in that folder:
- Rename the executable and MAYBE ALSO an associated directory. If there is a directory in the game files that is named like the executable file, you'll need to rename that too (games that are built in Unity have a "sister" directory that's named the same as the executable. If you rename the executable, you must rename the sister directory as well). If there is not a sister directory that has the same name as the executable, then all you need to do is rename the executable.
