Speaker noise

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone else has a problem with speaker noise. I have constant static coming from my Sente:

Is this normal? The volume in that video is set to where I would normally play at, and I'm playing a few game sounds for reference.

I just installed my Sente and I’m having the same speaker noise issue as well.

Ok, glad to hear nothing is wrong with my unit. I noticed muting the sound output in Windows will make it go away, but no other adjustments make a difference. Oddly, muting the sound output disables the LEDs.

Hopefully the signal coming from the headphone jack is clean, in which case I can put my own amp in the unit.

Same here. Got the speaker noise (loud hiss) at all times unless muted. Muting the sound does shut off the LEDs for some reason. I haven't been able to get my color LEDs working since the mainboard was swapped out.

Having the same issue although this video makes the hiss seem very loud…my unit is more of a constant white noise hiss…like a very hot microphone.

My is hiss is also “low” but definitly noticable n the room even when not sitting at the machine.

Oddly enough, the hiss also gets softer if I turn the volume all the way up.

I was messing around with the sound after reading some of these comments and I found something that worked for me. Turn Polycade volume to max using volume control knob - then adjust volume with windows volume control.
My machine is now quiet and we can sleep again. Haha

This kind of works. I’m able to set the volume as you described and there’s minimal white noise. However, if I attempt to turn down the volume on the Polycade Rotary knob the hiss gets even louder.

So this is only a workaround to set your volume permanently. Or exclude the hardware rotary knob and have to navigate to Windows settings to adjust your volume.

Clogansrun Yeah—it’s more of a “find a volume you’re happy with and leave it there” situation for sure.

I am having the same issue and its driving me nuts. There has to be a permanant fix for this.

yes having the speaker issue as well. an acknowledged issue with POLY but a clear need to address this hardware issue.

Turning the physical knob all the way up and the software volume down did not fix the issue for me.

Did anyone ever hear anything on this. It's such a distracting noise and meand leaving the unit powered on just aggrevates the hell out of everyone else. Me thinks its something to do with that logic board that contols the LED's, the fact turning off system volume turns off the LED's indicates something is not quite right there.

Having the same issue, slowly driving me bonkers/away from the machine... which is sad... as it only just arrived... partially.

GamesofDumois same issue. What I've noticed is the louder the game volume is set, the less the static. So when the polycade unit is turned all the way down, the static is loudest. However, if you adjust the volume windows settings there is no change until you hit mute. So, while there still is noticable static, the best way currently to reduce it is set the volume all the way up on the unit and then adjust windows to around 30/100 so you don't blow your ears out. We need a fix for this static!

Very odd. I DIDN'T have this for the first 4 days and today it's always there. Super interesting. I hope they offer a fix soon.
