With the latest AGS release (Polycade Lux machine) and/or Windows update(s) I am now noticing Steam: Ultra Street Fighter IV stutters during gameplay. Before the update it was working flawlessly so not sure what could have caused the issue (e.g., Updates: AGS, Windows or Steam).

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks!

Hmm @Uthuidos a lot of times when there's big windows updates, drivers need to be updated as well. Usually the graphics drivers are the most finicky.

Depending on what Polycade you have, your GPU can vary. To find out what you have, follow these instructions: https://www.pcmag.com/how-to/what-graphics-card-do-i-have

Most likely, you have a Geforce 1650 or Geforce 1050. If that's the case, you would go here and select the appropriate drop downs (in my image below I have preselected for the 1650):
https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-in

From there, download the latest drivers and install. Note that you might have a non-geforce GPU in which case you'd need to search for that manufacturer's website.

Let us know if this fixes it!

I have the most recent updates/drivers for AGS, Windows and Steam. I went ahead and downloaded the Geforce 1650 drive but still the same results.

Backstory - brother and I were playing USF IV flawlessly and that night we noticed everything in the AGS interface was lockdown for a big upcoming update. We booted up the Polycade Lux and waited for everything to update and played some other games. Two days later we tried playing USF IV and noticed every blue moon that actions were moving in slow motion (stuttering) and then back to normal play; this was a regular occurrence.

Today I decided to turn off AGS and open up USF IV through Steam. I played 6 games without issue; however, when playing USF IV through the AGS interface it randomly starts stuttering again as if the graphics card cannot keep up or the ram/cpu cycles are being maxed out on the box. I have also noticed this issue when cycling through the list of games in the AGS interface. Meaning if I have 50 games and I decided to click through them (up/down) quickly through each column, sometimes there is a delay or slight glitch vs me being able to cycle through the games fast.

For now I can just play USF IV without AGS but any recommendations would greatly be appreciated or maybe I will just wait for the next update and see if it corrects itself. Thanks!

Hi @Uthuidos - thanks for all this info.

Sorry we missed your last message. This forum application we use doesn't notify us when we have a new post or follow up to a previous comment :/ We've now got a dedicated person (me!) checking the forum every day so you won't have to wait as long for replies from now on.

I wanted to check back in on this issue and see if it's still occurring for you. We've made a ton of updates to the software since this was posted so I'm hoping things were resolved, but want to make sure our engineers look into this if not.

Brother is down this week so we will play a couple USF IV games and let you know in the next couple of days.

We did notice though when playing any Steam game and then trying to close out of it by clicking the “exit” button on the Polycade Lux - the screen that says, “return to game” or “exit game” is in an endless loop. We cannot get out of the game back to the main AGS screen. I did hit a couple random keys on the keyboard that eventually got off that screen. This only started to occur under the new update release.
